I was just tired. I had actually slept enough, the days were full of action. Now the action was mostly of a Buddhist nature, but that's not important. Just action.

Tired of doing. I was somewhat startled by the thought that, in addition to compassionate action or intimate writing or teaching, relaxation is crucial for us here in the West. We no longer even know what relaxation is. It doesn't mean slumping down in your body or letting all your thoughts go or just remaining silent. It simply means being balanced, not tense, smiling. Observing processes and deciding in a brief moment whether to follow these processes - in the mind, in the body, in the exchange - or not. This is equanimity. No hurry, no stress.

Breathe out. Pause. Breathe in. Pause.
