Buddha nature of the bird

The Buddha nature, the purity, the openness, the infinite clarity, is superordinate in everything. In every stone, in every emotion, in every roar of the lioness. Somewhat more limited - depending on the finely spun Buddhist system - Buddha nature is found in every living being, i.e. not in inorganic matter.

Is there a specific expression of this Pure Nature? Of course, after all we are not the same in our embodied form. A human being looks different from a bird, very simple. This is what this experience of the 5 Buddha families or the wonderful, feminist description of the 5 Dakinis by Lama Tsültrim Allione means.

When I hear the singing of the bird in the morning and do not think bird, but am one with the sound "I Sound Now Da Sound", then I am the Buddha nature of the bird. Even if I myself can only croak vocally - that is my judgemental self-perception.

But a few years ago, when I sang or almost shouted a song - I can't remember which one - out loud in honour of my guru Choekyi Nangpa Rinpoche, my fervour and devotion made me forget this inner judgement. This was during a Tara retreat with incredible, surreal experiences. But experiences are not important, they distract us from being one, from Buddha nature.

Why are we confused?

Why are we confused?

At least there is something comforting about this question. It's everyone's business. Not just me or you. Yes, why do we stumble over expectations, ideas and needs? Because at some point we learnt to differentiate. As a baby from me to my…
